It was kind of ironic, when we did Roger & Sarah's engagement session in the summer at Albion Falls Hamilton, right near the end of the session it poured rain harder than I've ever seen. We were completely soaked to the bone before we could get back to the car! The last thing that I said to them was, "Don't worry, this is good, now we don't have to worry about it raining on your wedding day!".... Oops ☺️
Fortunately Roger and Sarah weren't even a little bit bothered by the rain! In fact they had even planned months prior to have their ceremony indoors at the The Elm Hurst just in case it did rain. They had their ceremony in The Carriage House which was a beautiful backdrop for their day.
One of the questions we get asked the most when meeting with potential clients is, What happens if it rains? Fortunately it doesn't happen all that often, but the biggest thing you need to remember, is that if it does rain, don't worry! Especially if you are having your Wedding at The Elm Hurst, or a similar wedding venue. There are lots of porches, and covered verandah's that we can use to keep everyone dry... We'll everyone except for myself usually, lol. Most of the time I can be found standing out in that pouring rain in order to get the perfect shot of everyone! Even if you are getting married somewhere else, there are always doorways, or overhangs somewhere which we can find and use, and if it is only a light rain, assuming the bride and groom are up for it, it is always fun to grab some umbrellas and head out into the rain for some unique photos that most bride and grooms never get the chance to take!
I hope you enjoy some of our favourite images from Roger & Sarah's rainy wedding day and hopefully they'll show you that there is no need to worry about rain on your wedding day!
